How Jack Popped the Question
Jack and Jill were having supper at their favorite restaurant one night last August. They love the view of the ocean from the patio where they always sit. It was a perfect summer evening, the warmth from the day still radiating up from the concrete, and a cool breeze blowing along the shore. The sun had just set over the horizon, and its pink glow was still illuminating the darkened sky above. Jack suggested to Jill that they stroll down the neighbouring dock and check out the latest boats moored for the weekend. The dock was quiet, other then the odd person out for a walk themselves, or heading into the city from the sea. At the end of the pier was a lamp post, its light beaming down from above. Upon reaching the end, Jack and Jill sat with their legs dangling over the side talking about where they have been and where they will go. Taking his cue, Jack raised himself up on to one knee and asked Jill to marry him. And the rest is history!
